Today is World Water Day 2017.

I always tell my colleagues in the water quality industry to take advantage of the opportunity to align their dealerships with national and, in the case, international initiatives. It makes the dealership appear larger and gives staff and customers pride in association.

World Water Day is held on 22 March every year. The event is about taking action to tackle the water crisis. World Water Day is coordinated by UN-Water in collaboration with governments and partners. Today, there are over 663 million people living without a safe water supply close to home, spending countless hours trying to find, collect and bring clean water back to their families. This year’s World Water Day will also deal with the implications of coping with the health impacts of using contaminated water.

This year’s theme is about waste water and the concept of improving water quality and reducing, treating and reusing wastewater.

Globally, the vast majority of all the wastewater from our homes, cities, industry and agriculture flows back to nature without being treated or reused – polluting drinking and bathing and irrigation and losing valuable nutrients and other recoverable materials.

Reducing and safely treating and reusing wastewater, for example in agriculture and aquaculture, protects worker, farmers and consumers promotes food security, health and well being.

In honor of World Water Day, the team at Dataman Group is proud to make a donation to the UN.
