Marketing HVAC Tune-Ups Before Winter

December 1st, 2015 by

In terms of HVAC Marketing, while it’s not Game of Thrones, winter is definitely coming. Homeowners need to make sure their homes – especially the heating system – are ready for the cold.

Home heating costs can take a big chuck out of your wallet. No home owner wants to spend more money on heating oil than absolutely necessary. Certainly no one wants to wake up to a cold house on a frigid morning because the furnace failed.

Bottom line, homeowners need to do their due diligence and make sure their homes have been inspected and tuned up for winter

HVAC companies need to do their due diligence too. If your HVAC company does not actively seek out new customers, homeowners in your area will likely go on-line and click on the top company they see. And, unless you have unlimited marketing dollars for Pay Per Click advertising, chances are they won’t be finding your ad at the top of the list.

Direct Mail is a Winner for HVAC Marketing

Direct mail gives HVAC companies a chance to be proactive. You can introduce your business to local homeowners. Direct mail offers you a chance to brand – a chance to shine. You can score with appropriate messaging and offer – directed specifically to homeowners in their area who need and can afford your services. It’s the only medium that promises to get your message into the right homes, where it counts.

Make sure you speak with your postal rep and arrange to be included in Informed Delivery. There is no extra cost to you when you add this on to your mailing. Imagine the opportunity to have your message in your prospect’s email box, the same day your mail piece will be delivered. Double the exposure. Great for name recognition and branding.

You might also consider having email addresses appended to your mailing list. This way you can upload the email list to Facebook or Google ads and gain some added exposure in another marketing channel. Again, the more times and more places your prospect sees your name, the better.

Target Your Best Prospects

Nowadays, mailing lists are extremely targeted. For HVAC marketing, companies can even select their prospects by exterior construction or heating type in the home.

New Homeowners are also a great prospect group. This will be their first winter in their new homes and they will definitely want to make sure their investment is properly inspected, tuned-up and ready for the white walkers.
