International Women’s Day
Congratulations to all the Amazing Women out there on this International Women’s Day.
International Women’s Day, observed each year on March 8, is a global moment to recognize the achievements, leadership, and contributions of women across every industry and community. It’s a day to reflect on progress made, acknowledge the challenges that remain, and celebrate the role women play in shaping business, innovation, and everyday life—past, present, and future.
The first International Women’s Day gathering was in 1911. It was supported by over a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. Prior to this other groups campaigned for women’s equality. These groups included the Socialist Party of America as well as United Kingdom’s Suffragists and Suffragettes.
In 2019, the theme of International Women’s Day was Balance is Better. The direction – Let’s build a gender-balanced world
Balance is not a women’s issue, it’s a business issue. This is important for a gender-balanced boardroom and a gender-balanced government. We are also looking a gender-balance in media coverage both news and sports. Gender-balance is also vital in terms of employee coverage in business. Gender-balance in wealth is another important fpcus.
The bottom line is that gender balance is essential for economies and communities to thrive
For Advertisers & Marketeers:
Advertisers need to remember that women are the decision makers and marketing efforts always need to reflect this.
Our list has the names of 103,732,065 women in the US with a annual buying power of $15 trillion.
As we continue moving forward, International Women’s Day serves as an important reminder that meaningful progress is built through recognition, opportunity, and support—year after year. Celebrating women’s achievements isn’t limited to one day on the calendar; it’s an ongoing commitment to equity, inclusion, and respect in our workplaces, communities, and lives.
