Since September is Life Insurance Awareness Month, there is a great deal of national exposure, articles and news reports touting the importance of life insurance. This is a key time for life insurance agents need to market and take advantage of exposure.
1 in 3 households would have immediate trouble paying living expenses if the primary wage earner died, according to the 2016 Insurance Barometer Study by Life Happens and LIMRA. The study also found that 40% haven’t bought life insurance or more of it because they’re unsure of how much or what type to buy.
This Life Insurance Awareness month national education campaign is coordinated by the nonprofit organization Life Happens. It is designed to help consumers take stock of their life insurance needs and protect their loved ones with proper insurance planning. With more than 100 million adult Americans who have no life insurance, the need has never been greater.
The top marketing lists for life insurance are:
- New Homeowners
- Parents of New Babies
- Parents of Children
- Turning 40
- Small business owners
Over 100 insurance companies join together for this campaign. Life Insurance agents can download marketing materials and other information from the Life Happens website. I especially love their campaign called Insure Your Love. The main reason to buy life insurance is because you love people and want to protect them financially. This is the message behind the Insure Your Love campaign and it is a great year-round marketing theme that will help you connect with clients and prospects.
Another great source for professional marketing materials in LIMA, life Insurance Marketing Association. If you click HERE, you will find a great infographic.
Agents should remember that September is Life insurance Awareness month and plan their marketing campaigns to include it.
