Using Halloween in Your Marketing

October 20th, 2019 by

I wrote a great post last year about using Halloween in your marketing to drive lead generation. I got a couple of responses to this post.

Two of my colleagues told me I was nuts. Three of my colleagues told me I was a genius.

Let’s go with genius. But, it doesn’t take a genius to know that sometimes a business needs to jump on a particular bandwagon. If your business is like mine, it thrives on visibility and goodwill.

Halloween offers just that.

It’s fun and celebrated almost universally. It offers businesses an opportunity to show off on two sides.

Internally, it’s a great for employee morale and allows you to bond with your customers. Children’s dental practices totally score on Halloween. And not just because they can protect all those little teeth from trick or treat candy.

This is a chance for staff to get dressed up; for the practice to run contests to engage their patients.

The Fun Factor

Externally, social media opportunities run wild. Photos galore abound on Halloween.  That’s why it’s so much fun to use Halloween in your marketing. Think visibility and goodwill.

For businesses in other types of markets, Halloween can also be a plus. I have a swimming pool service company client who decorates people’s swimming pools.  Have you ever seen a spooky swimming pool with steaming dry ice and glow sticks in the water. Awesome. Another tremendous opportunity for social media. Once again, great visibility and goodwill. People are going to be scrolling through Facebook and Instagram for hours!

That’s what you want. You want customers and prospects to engage with you. You want your photos to score well on Google local. Using Halloween in your marketing actually does impact your business.

At Dataman Group, we typically dress up Data Kayee and Data Dez, our famous data dogs.  Believe me, you will see their furry faces in our social media and smile!

  1. Most geniuses are inherently nuts. I love when companies get excited for Halloween. It makes a company and their employees more relatable.

  2. Love this! I think it’s fun to see a company’s staff having a great time at work. And there’s a lot you can do with it!
