Marketing Tips for
Life Insurance

When it comes to marketing tips for life insurance, we have seen that many Insurance agents experience a tick up in Life Insurance Sales during Life Insurance Awareness Month in September. So, make sure your marketing efforts culminate in September. That’s my first tip!

According to the 2015 Insurance Barometer Study by LIMRA and the LIFE Happens Foundation:

  • 85 percent of Americans say most people need life insurance.

Young families are Top Life Insurance prospects
  • Only 62 percent have coverage.
  • Those with no life insurance think it’s three times more expensive than it actually is.

Insurance Agents need to plan now and get their marketing materials ready to mail at the end of July. This way they can take advantage of the national Life Insurance Awareness Month marketing initiatives.

This industry-wide campaign is aimed at educating Americans about the importance of life insurance. It also offers agents the perfect opportunity to talk to people in their community about their life insurance needs.

Here are some Marketing Tips for Life Insurance – Keep these in mind!

Consumers Prefer to Shop & Buy Life Insurance Face-to-Face

Face-to-face is still the most preferred method for buying life insurance. While 86% of consumers use the Internet to research life insurance before purchasing, only 16% percent of consumers would prefer to buy insurance completely online.

*But how do Agents reach them to set the appointment?

Concentrate Marketing Efforts on the Top Buyers

41% percent of Life Insurance shoppers say life events (having children, buying a house, etc.) motivated them to shop for life insurance. Agents should concentrate on these key trigger groups – since they represent their best chance for success.

Direct Mail Works

Direct mail is the only way to consistently reach the top Life Insurance trigger groups of New Homeowners and New Parents. A well thought out letter with appropriate premium will earn Insurance Agents a coveted face-to-face appointment.
