Kayla passed away in February 2011. She was a very good dog.
She was responsible for Reception and Shipping and really took her job to heart. She was quick to announce the arrival of all visitors and played an important role in assisting FedEx in their delivery efforts.
Kayla was diligent in everything she did. She won special praise from UPS as “the dog they most want to visit at an office”. She was truly dedicated and spent countless hours laying in wait for any vehicle to drive into the parking area so she might greet them. She was eager to learn new skills and hady been sighted assisting the USPS deliver mail to our offices.
Kayla was 10 when she passed. She was a black lab/rottweiler mix who felt that everyone must be able to work around her in the office as she managed to lie smack in the middle of the floor in the most inconvenient places imaginable, forcing us to avoid rolling over her long black tail with our chairs. As part of the Shipping Team, she could always be found happily munching cardboard boxes and packing tape and playing snow angel with the styrofoam peanuts.
Kayla was a real plus in our office and we were proud of her efforts on our canine staff.
This beautiful photo of Kayla was taken by Dennis Nicewander at the Canine Cove Dog Park in Boca Raton.
