HOMEOWNERS WITH
SEPTIC TANKS

Water Dealers can now take advantage of our Homeowners with Septic Tanks lists.

According to the Executive Office of Environmental Affairs for the state of Massachusetts: Inadequately treated sewage from failing septic systems poses a significant threat to drinking water and human health because diseases and infections may be transferred to people and animals directly and immediately. Dysentery, hepatitis, typhoid fever, and acute gastrointestinal illness are some of the more serious examples. Inadequately treated sewage from failing septic systems is the most frequently reported cause of groundwater contamination.”

For Water Dealers it’s an opportunity to contact homeowners with septic tanks and offer to test their water. Every homeowner should have their septic system inspected at least every 3 years. This test can provide homeowners with valuable information about their septic tank. No one wants to run the risk of contaminating the groundwater around their tank, especially if they have a well. This is absolutely vital for homeowners who also get their drinking water from a private well. Because of this, the CDC recommends that septic tank needs to be at least 50 feet away from the well.

Our Homeowners with Septic Tanks Lists has 1.5 million homeowners in the U.S. Just to give you a sense of the numbers – there are 18,048 in Chesterfield County VA; 15,000 in Brazoria TX. Data is not available in every state/every county.  If you would like to see a count for your market, email [email protected]  in our office.

Homeowners with Well Water

We also offer a list of Homeowners with Well Water. This group also requires annual inspections to make sure there are no contaminants in the well water. Many homes with well water require whole house filtration or softener systems.

Well water purity can be influenced by the following depending on your area:
  • Naturally- occurring chemicals and minerals, (for example, arsenic, copper, calcium, and radon).
  • Pesticides, herbicides and other cultivating works on. They are including runoff from confined animal feeding operations (CAFOs).
  • Industrial contamination and fuel drilling can present risky levels of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) into well water.
  • Heavy metals from adjacent mining or mishandled waste.
  • Malfunctioning sewers or poorly manufactured septic systems (the EPA prescribes septic tanks introduced no less than 50 feet far from wells).
